National Picnic Week

It’s National Picnic Week this week– that’s a whole five days to indulge and enjoy sitting outdoors in good company with your favourite snacks and drinks beside you!

We have decided to put together some ideas to make your own charcuterie selection board for you to show off your skills at the picnic board and simply enjoy.

We have a large variety of biscuits to indulge with delicious cheeses, including a selection of award–winning Water Biscuits, Oatcakes, Cheese Straws and Cheeseboard Selection boxes.

Here are some hints and tips to get you started:

1. Choose a variety of textures, cured meats & milk type cheeses.

2. Plenty of mixture, grapes, nuts, jams, honeys, chutney sauces.

3. Butter, soft cheese, hard cheese, know what pairs well together.

4. Flavouring water biscuits such as our Rosemary or Salt & Black Pepper.

5. Oatcakes such as our Smoked Butter, Seaweed, or Honey Seed.

6. Cheese straws such as our Strathdon Blue, Dunlop or Smoked Dunlop.

7. We have a Savoury Cheeseboard selection or a sweet shortbread selection, which would add a lovely mix to any cheeseboard or charcuterie selection.
