We are delighted to say that our hot cross buns are available again for our local customers based in Western Isles.
Hot cross buns are as much a part of Easter as chocolate eggs or simnel cake. They mark the end of lent and are traditionally eaten on Good Friday, though we have come to love them so much that they now tend to be eaten throughout March and April. They are yeasted sweet buns filled with spices and various fruits such as currants, raisins, or candied citrus.
Our favourite way to enjoy them is freshly toasted with a generous lashing of creamy salted butter.
