Burns Night

Every year Scotland celebrates Burns night on the 25th of January, to commemorate the life of Robert Burns who was born on 25th January 1759. He was a brilliant poet, and his most famous poem was Auld Lang Syne which gets sung every New Year’s Eve traditionally at midnight on 31st December.

The famous dish that gets served is a traditional Haggis (don’t ask what it is, just try it first!), Neeps (turnip) and Tatties (Potatoes) relating to Robert’s poem “Address to a Haggis”, a dish that was served up by Robert’s friends who celebrated 5 years of his passing and the dish has lived on ever since, simmered down with a few drams of Whisky.
