Beltane (Mayday) Festival

Here in bonnie Scotland, May the 1st represents the Annual Beltane Festival traditionally held in Edinburgh every year since 1988.  The name Beltane is the Scottish Gaelic for Mayday.

The festival falls midway between spring equinox and the summer solstice which marks the beginning of summer. The long-awaited lovely hot/warm summer weather, that is always welcomed in Scotland due to the lack of it!

The summer time brings in lots or tourism to the island and many other places in Scotland.

Here on our island, we have the most remarkable beaches that would make you think you were abroad with the clear air, clear skies, and beautiful clear blue seas. We have a lot to offer with the warmest of welcoming and let’s not forget it’s the perfect time of year for outdoor eating including lovely picnics at the beach or forestry walks that we would be more than happy to cater for.
