Burns Night

Jan 25, 2017

Every year on 25 January, we Scots like to raise a glass in patriotic celebration of our national bard, Robert Burns.

It's a time when we can enjoy our favourite haggis, neeps and tatties, but it doesn't just have to be about haggis!

This #BurnsNight it's a great reason to crack open a bottle of single malt whisky (Scottish of course). Our Seaweed Water Biscuits are perfect with a wee dram of whisky ... but don't take our word for it. Here's what Rob Allanson at the Whisky Magazine had to say ...

"They [seaweed water biscuits] work really well, not just with Islay but also complementing sweeter Highland and Speyside drams. They are good because with Islay whiskies they seem to amplify the iodine and earthy notes, but with the Highland and Speyside they work stripping elements away from the whisky leaving more sweet, honey vanillin notes."

So this Burns Night, why not enjoy a Stornoway Water Biscuit with Hebridean Seaweed? They're great with a spot of cheese, or can even be used as a base for canapés - they're especially good with smoked salmon & cream cheese.
