Create a Christmas Cheeseboard

A cheeseboard is essential when entertaining: they are easy to construct, can be made well in advance and brought out at the last moment for the 'Ta Da' wow factor. Yes, it's easy to 'do' a cheeseboard but what shouldn't be rushed is the decision of which cheeses and crackers should be used to ensure that the cheeseboard is interesting, well balanced and with a good array of flavours, textures and crunch!

Select the best cheese, accompany it with some juicy, plump grapes, dried fruits, crunchy celery and an assortment of condiments, pastes and accompaniments. But, all your hard work won't pay dividend unless you serve the perfect biscuit for cheese too.

There are so many savoury cracker brands available on the market, but in our experience, it's best to have a cheese biscuit that 'holds' the cheese and with a flavour that isn't overpowering, but simply enhances and improves the cheese.

That's why we've put together this simple guide to give you ideas of the best cheeses to serve alongside our range of savoury biscuits:

  • Original Water Biscuits: this neutral cracker works well with strong, mature flavours like a vintage cheddar. 
  • Rosemary Water Biscuits: serve with Brie or Welsh Perl Wen. 
  • Salt & Black Pepper: perfect with a Gorgonzola.
  • Smoked Butter Oatcakes: enjoy with creamy cheeses like Wensleydale 
  • Walnut Oatcakes: good with a robust goats' milk cheese
